What is a Test leader ?

Tester Leader is person who has the role of managing and supervising the testing team that they are assigned to manage. In addition, he/she also take on the task of assigning work, giving tasks and directing their team members to complete the tasks assigned by their superiors. From there, to ensure the completion schedule and product quality before handing over to customers.

Main activities carried out by Software Test leader

  • Building up and leading the Testing Team to the success of project

  • Develop test strategy and test plans for projects

  • Defining the scope of testing within the context of each release or each software testing level

  • The use of resources in an effective way and managing the resources for software testing.

  • Applying the appropriate test measurements and metrics in the product and the Testing Team.

  • Planning, deploying and managing the testing effort for any given engagement.

  • Identify and resolve the project risks in testing team

  • Improve testing process.
  • Reports to the upper management.

Essential hard skills and knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, information technology engineering, related field or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in the creation and automation of SW tests (eg. regression, functionality/non-functionality, and API)

  • Knowledge on the Python and testing tools: debug tools, CI/CD tools, test automaton framework.

  • Understanding for developer testing and agile testing.
